Per-minute pricing in the psychic reading industry has a mixed reputation. Critics argue it incentivises readers to drag out sessions and run up bills. And in some cases, on poorly managed platforms, that criticism is valid.
But done right – with proper controls, transparency, and accountability – per-minute pricing is actually the fairest model for both clients and readers. Here’s why.
You Pay for What You Use
Fixed-rate readings charge the same amount whether your question takes 10 minutes or 45 minutes to answer. If your reader delivers a clear, complete answer in 12 minutes, you’ve still paid for a full 30-minute slot.
Per-minute pricing means you pay for the time you actually use. Got your answer in 15 minutes? You pay for 15 minutes. Need a full hour to explore a complex situation? You pay for 60 minutes. Your spending reflects the actual value delivered.
You Control the Duration
With per-minute billing, you can end the session at any time. This puts you in control. If the reading isn’t resonating, you stop. If you’ve gotten what you need, you stop. If you want to keep going deeper, you continue.
Fixed rates remove this flexibility. You’ve paid for 30 minutes whether you need them or not, creating pressure to fill the time even when the reading is naturally complete.
It Rewards Efficient Readers
A common concern is that per-minute pricing rewards readers who waste time. But in practice, the opposite is true on quality platforms.
On our platform, readers know that clients can end sessions at any moment. A reader who wastes time, pads the reading with filler, or stalls for minutes will get poor reviews and lose clients. The per-minute model actually incentivises efficiency and quality – readers who deliver value quickly earn repeat bookings and strong ratings.
Price Reflects Experience Fairly
Different readers have different levels of experience, ability, and demand. A reader with 25 years of experience and a 4.9 rating deserves to charge more than a talented newcomer building their practice.
Per-minute pricing allows this natural market dynamic. Newer readers can offer lower rates to build their client base. Established readers can charge premium rates that reflect their track record. Clients can choose based on their budget and their needs.
Our Safeguards Against Abuse
We recognise the valid concerns about per-minute models and have built specific protections:
- 3 free minutes with every new reader – feel the connection before paying
- Spending caps – set a maximum budget for each session
- Alerts – receive a notification when you’re approaching your spending limit
- Auto-end – sessions end automatically when your cap is reached
- Review accountability – readers who consistently receive complaints about time-wasting are investigated and, if warranted, removed
These controls ensure that the per-minute model works in your favour, not against you.
The Value Equation
Ultimately, the best pricing model is the one that aligns cost with value. Per-minute pricing does this more precisely than any alternative:
- Short question, quick answer = low cost
- Complex situation, deep exploration = higher cost
- Unsatisfying connection = end early, minimal cost
- Life-changing insight in 20 minutes = you pay for 20 minutes of wisdom
When you combine per-minute pricing with proper safeguards, free introductory minutes, and spending controls, you get a system that’s fair, transparent, and firmly in the client’s control.
That’s our model. And based on the half million readings we’ve delivered, it works.

The Hidden Cost of Fixed-Rate Readings
The pitch for fixed-rate readings sounds appealing – one price, no surprise charges. But the structural incentives don’t quite work in the client’s favour. A reader booked into a 60-minute session who reaches the end of the meaningful part at minute 25 has to fill the remaining 35 minutes anyway. That filler is rarely the most accurate part of the session, and it can dilute the strong material that came earlier.
Per-minute pricing fixes this. The reader can pause when there’s nothing useful to add, and you stop being charged. Sessions tend to land in their natural shape rather than being padded for the clock.
How to Use Per-Minute Pricing Wisely
- Have a top question and two backup questions ready. Use the time you’ve decided to spend rather than letting the time decide what you ask.
- Set a soft cap before the call – say, 30 minutes – and check in with yourself when you reach it.
- Don’t hesitate to end early if you’ve gotten what you came for. The reader generally won’t be offended; they’d rather you walk away satisfied than artificially extend.
- If you’re feeling pulled to keep paying for “just one more thing” past your cap, that’s anxiety, not insight. End the session and integrate.
